Working Together Lessons
This class is offered to those who are interested in working with each other and supporting each other's efforts in the water. These lessons are designed to help develop a deeper connection with each other.
For an individual with a fear of the water, the supporting partner will be shown simple water confidence techniques, which will help to build trust and will enable their partner to feel at home in the water.
If one individual has a disability, techniques can be taught to their partner to perform stretching and movement exercises in the water. This enables many disabled peopled to experience a new level of freedom and enjoyment while helping to maintain and improve their health.
For able swimmers, who would like to improve their stroke technique(s), skills will be taught to ensure that they swim calmly and effortlessly, without introducing muscle strain to their body.
The observing partner will be taught to readily spot any movement that appears to be incorrect. This can prevent the swimmer from consolidating bad habits.
Working together can be deeply rewarding. "It's not just about one partner giving to the other, but about supporting each other - giving and receiving" - Stephanie Dutton
