BABIES AND CHILDREN
THE TOUCH OF LOVE THAT CAN LAST A LIFETIME...

Babies respond well to being in water. It helps to calm stressed out babies and encourages strong family bonds.

The Mind, Body Awareness Programme encourages parents to teach their babies to enjoy the delights of "just being" and exploring the water freely, and happily.

These classes will not only encourage babies to be comfortable in water at a very early age, but also it offers the baby an opportunity to learn and experience the concept of being calm and peaceful without the normal outside stimulation that exists in their day to day world.

The focus isn't on how to interact with your child, but how to nurture yourself in order to fully engage with your child and learn what they are teaching you.

"If a child is to keep alive his inborn sense of wonder, he needs the companionship of at least one adult who can share it, rediscovering with him the joy, excitement and mystery of the world we live in." Rachel Carson

When parents learn to apply the simple techniques to their baby when bathing, or taking them to the local swimming pool it will become a joyful experience for both parent and baby.

The Mind, Body Awareness Programme is gentle, and encourages parents to teach their babies to relax and enjoy the water, starting from as young as 6-weeks old.

DISCOVERING AND EXPLORING THROUGH WATER PLAY

The Mind, Body Awareness Programme is a gentle way of teaching and is "baby friendly," encouraging parents to go at baby’s pace.

With confidence from the parent, babies are free to explore, and discover the delights of playing in water.

Within this safe environment baby’s self-confidence will grow, making them happy, healthy and well-adjusted children.

BABY STROKES

When babies are introduced to water they not only learn the art of movement, but they are exercising muscles, making them stronger and more co-ordinated.

The practice of teaching babies to move in water is highly recommended as one of the best activities for babies.

Babies love being in water, and parents find that after a class babies sleep sound and peacefully.

TEACH YOUR CHILD TO LEARN HOW TO ENJOY THE WATER BEFORE GOING TO SCHOOL

The Mind, Body Awareness Programme teaches the parent the basic principles of swimming which are learned through game play; breathing into the water, submersion and floating on the surface.

As children become more confident and comfortable they gradually proceed to swimming back-stroke, front-crawl and diving.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE MY CHILD TO LEARN HOW TO SWIM?

The Mind, Body Awareness Programme focuses on getting children happy, comfortable and water confident.

We can't tell a parent or child exactly when they're going to swim independently - each child reacts, and responds differently to being in water. But with the Mind, Body Awareness Programme it encourages the child to explore their water journey, and for them to gain a great learning experience in and around the water.

MY CHILD HAS A MEDICAL PROBLEM

The Mind, Body Awareness Programme will benefit children with an array of orthopedic and developmental disabilities. Swimming enhances the child’s core balance, coordination, lung capacity and overall strength and endurance.

Swimming is an effective means of advancing motor skills and preparing them for a life-long love of water.

FUN, FAMILY AND TOGETHER

Have you thought about how great it would be for the family to spend more time together playing in water?

Time spent with the family brings peace, and harmony and makes being in water more fun for those who are anxious or afraid, and at the same time will develop stronger, harmonious connections between all of you.

"The family is one of nature's masterpieces." George Santayana

IS YOUR CHILD WATER WISE?

Parents want their children to be safe and confident in the water, and it's never to early to start.

Learning how to swim, and understanding water safety is a life-learning skill. It is also very important to feel safe in water because it means that your child can take part in other water activities such as; diving, snorkeling, sailing, canoeing, and surfing.
